A little more clarity
Therapy & common questions
Questions about individual therapy, EMDR, or IFS? I offer sessions in person in Portland and online throughout Oregon. Here’s a little more about my approach and how to get started.
Who do I work with?
I offer individual therapy for adults. I welcome people navigating trauma, anxiety and depression, loss and grief, neurodivergence, and highly sensitive systems. A consultation gives you a chance to describe what you are looking for and ask whether my approach fits your needs.
Can we meet online or in person?
I offer individual therapy online throughout Oregon and in person at 6124 Southeast Milwaukie Avenue, Portland, OR 97202. Contact me about current scheduling options and the arrangements for your preferred format.
What is EMDR, and how do I use it?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I am an EMDR-certified therapist offering individual therapy for adults in Portland. I use EMDR to work with stressful and traumatic experiences toward a more truthful and constructive understanding. During a consultation, you can ask what the process involves, how sessions are structured, and whether it might be appropriate for your goals and preferred session format.
What is my approach to trauma therapy?
My work is collaborative and attentive to your identity, nervous-system needs, and individual experience. My approach includes EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and practical resources for navigating overwhelming experiences. Together, we can discuss your goals and clarify how these approaches might support your work.
What is Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) offers a way to understand different parts of your internal experience, with care for wounded parts and respect for protective parts. I am trained in IFS and draw on this approach in my individual therapy practice in Portland and Oregon. We can talk about how this way of working might fit your needs.
What is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) explores your needs and values as an anchor for meeting daily emotions and stressors. I draw on this approach to help us understand what matters to you and identify practical ways to respond to difficult experiences.
How do I get started?
Start with a free 15-minute phone consultation. You can ask questions, share what brings you here, and see whether working together feels right. Bring questions about your goals, my approach, session format, scheduling, and payment. Use the booking portal to view consultation options.
How do I confirm fees and insurance?
Contact me to confirm the current session fee and whether your specific insurance plan is accepted. My insurance list is on the homepage; coverage and costs depend on your plan. For plans with out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement. Ask about your benefits and expected costs before beginning care.
