Your right to understand costs

Good Faith Estimate

If you are uninsured or paying for care without using insurance, you have the right to a written estimate of expected health care charges.

Requesting an estimate

You can request an estimate before scheduling; it should be provided within three business days. If you book three to nine business days ahead, it should arrive within one business day of booking. For appointments booked ten or more business days ahead, it should arrive within three business days of booking.

If your bill exceeds the estimate

You may dispute a provider’s bill if it exceeds that provider’s estimate by $400 or more. Keep your estimate so you can compare it with your bill.

Questions and more information

Ask Rose Patterson about an estimate at (541) 241-6096 or [email protected].
